Harbour25 Vision
After months of prayer, reflection and community input, Harbour Church has developed a vision for what we will do and be in the next five years, leading up to our 25th anniversary.
Our mission has always been to walk with people from disenchantment to discipleship. Now, as our quarter century mark approaches, we collectively desire to reenergize our mission. We desire to grow closer to God and to one other, and, out of that deepening of faith and community, reach out in new and familiar ways to the world.
Here are specific ways in which we envision Harbour25 becoming reality:
WALK BOLDLY PROCLAIMING CHRIST
Helping lost people encounter God has been a driving force at Harbour for the past 20 years and this passion remains undiminished. Individual ownership and participation is foundational to our effectiveness. A collective passion to lead each person to encounter God will direct our Sunday activities.
WALK DEEPLY TOGETHER
Too many people exist at Harbour without anyone really knowing them. In the next five years, the refocusing of our ministries will establish a variety of groups to provide natural “entry points” for people seeking to put down roots at Harbour. We desire that every person at Harbour walk deeply with God and with at least one other person. The world needs people of spiritual depth and we will be those people.
WALK COMPASSIONATELY
Starting with those closest to us, we want to understand the needs and challenges of the neighborhood, responding generously without expecting anything in return. Harbour will make our immediate community a different place, living out the heart of God.
LAUNCH LEADERS
God is raising up leaders to lead His church. We will focus our efforts to equip leaders in three ways; maximizing our own leadership, commissioning those from within and partnering with local, regional and global leaders.
As we launch Harbour25, we affirm once again that God has a dynamic future for our church. As we live out Harbour25, may Harbour’s sphere of influence expand, so that more and more, God may be glorified. Together we will walk, in growing boldness, unity and compassion, knowing that God is in charge, and we are in God’s hand.
