| Partnership
is a popular buzzword and a popular idea, but not everyone
is prepared for the cost and commitment of partnership.
At Harbour, our desire is to seek and develop long-term,
international partnerships with ministries who share our
commitment to Christ and His vision for His church, globally.
After
returning from a very fruitful mission trip to Kenya this
last winter and with much prayer and discussion, the Harbour
Fellowship Global Missions Leadership Team (GMLT) is heeding
God’s call for our church serve globally by pursuing
a permanent partnership with PACE Kenya.
We
are so excited to be at the beginning of this journey
as we recognize that both of our ministries have the same
visions and goals in mind. PACE Kenya has become a successful
ministry that is a solid contributor to the community
in which it is located and a blessing to all the people
they serve. Moreover, PACE fulfills our desire to develop
a long-term partnership with a ministry who shares our
commitment to Christ and His vision for His church, globally.
Wachira
Ngamau heads up the ministry in Nyahururu, Kenya. He is
a native Kenyan who had the privilege of coming to school
in the United States where he earned two degrees, a B.A.
in Pastoral Studies and a M.A. in Missions. He was also
blessed in meeting his wife and ministry partner, Glenda
while he was in America. They have 3 children ranging
from 5- 14 years of age.
Wachira
describes PACE ministries in this way: The Pan African
Christian Exchange (PACE) is a mission agency created
and managed by Africans and Africans of the Diaspora to
provide spiritual, social and economic services to the
African and Pan African Community. Our mission is to expose,
educate and empower the black church to establish networking
relationships with the rest of the Pan African Community
(Africans and Africans of the Diaspora) with the view
of modeling a self-governing and self-sustaining church
and community.
This
is an exciting time in Habour’s history as we begin
to develop this international partnership. Wachira is
a true visionary and a genuine man of God who for years
has trusted the Lord to grow this Kenyan ministry into
what it is today. We trust God has brought us together
in this partnership and it is our hope that we will glorify
God and assist in multiplying His kingdom as we serve
with this African community. |
